About David
Snape
|
David Snape grew up in New
Jersey, not far from the
Atlantic Ocean. He joined the
Navy at eighteen and worked as
an aviation electronics
technician. He worked in many
areas of the country and was
eventually assigned to a duty
station in Hawaii.
Upon leaving
the military he started
preparing for a career in
health.
Due to a
number of factors and growing
disillusionment with his chosen
profession and his future
colleagues, he left
professional training early,
never to
return.
|
He soon
found himself working in toxicology, then
information technology. All the while, he never lost his passion for health
and wellness information, and created the
ToBeInformed website as an outlet for those
interests.
Despite all his
training and background, he was caught
totally off guard by gum disease and the damage it could cause. Once he made
this discovery, he knew that others should
be informed and wrote the book, What You
Should Know About Gum
Disease.
Ever since high school,
David has been concerned about injustice, human
rights, and the
sufferings of others. He was
shocked to learn of the brutal persecution of
Falun Dafa, the
meditation practice he eventually settled
upon after much soul-searching.
In February
2002, he traveled to China to protest these
massive human rights violations— along with western practitioners of Falun
Gong from many different countries. The
communist
rulers of China met their message of
Truth, Compassion, Tolerance, and peaceful,
non-violent
protest with contempt, and they were all
deported them all from the
country.
While many
others benefit from this ancient qigong
practice around the world, the persecution of Falun Gong is ongoing in China. David
continues to work behind the scenes to help
raise
awareness, with the eventual goal of
ending the persecution of Falun Gong in
China.
